02/17/2009: Latest Updates

Seems like we have been updating the site a little over the past year but we are finally getting around to adding some more interesting stuff. We are in the process of adding a lot more boards to the gallery made by a wide range of our wonderful customers.

The home page has been updated with some new graphics and a more focused description of the system. But then you probably noticed that when you arrived for this visit! At the same time we have also updated the print versions of our brochure and installation guide. The installation guide has been shortened to make it easier to print. Both of these PDF files can be downloaded from our this site.

We will also be adding more photos of fins over the coming weeks as we have a lot of them waiting in the wings to be added.

As part of our planning we are also planning on turning this page into a blog so that we can more easily keep you abreast of all things ProBox. Larry already has a blog going that will eventually be hosted here, but for now you can visit it through this link - ProBox-Larry

Finally, we will be creating new introductory and installation videos in the next month and will be posting them up here as soon as they are completed. Keep an eye out for them!

09/07/2007: New Web site Now Live

Finally, our new web site is now up and running. This new site will allow us to keep you better informed on everything ProBox. There is still some missing content but this will be added in the coming weeks. For now all of the critical information is available.

There are a lot more fins on the new site and we plan on adding many more over the coming weeks and months, so keep checking back!

07/15/2007: Revised Box and Installation Jig

After a lot of hard work we have our revised box and installation jig ready to go.

There have been numerous improvements to the box and we have completely redesigned the jig.

There are a few images to the right that point out the various changes to the box and the jig.

Most of these changes are geared towards improving the strength and easing the installation process. These changes were driven by feedback from many of our customers in both large and small surfboard factories.

The shape of the jig has been changed so that it now works with a 5/8” bearing on the router, this results in a lip being left between the inner edge of the jig and the routed hole. This lip moves the edge of the hole away from the inner edge of the jig making it easier for resin to saturate the routed edge of the fiberglass. The new shape also results in a larger gap between the dam on the box and the jig making it easier to pour the resin.

Finally, the material for the box has been changed to a material with improved strength. This new material also sands better and holds the screw threads a lot better!
